Purdue Northwest seeks candidates for Director of PNW's TRIO McNair Program who will provide leadership and vision while exhibiting professionalism and collegiality in a team environment. The Director will be responsible for recruiting students into the program, ensuring that the program meets enrollment and success metrics, and ensuring that the program supports students' success in pursuing graduate education. The Director must and have the ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, accessible, and professional atmosphere. The Director must exhibit cultural competence, with the demonstrated ability and commitment to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Duties include the following:
Interpret and apply all applicable campus, state, and federal regulations which impact the program fiscally and programmatically.
Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate all Program staff.
Compile data, write, and submit annual reports documenting program outcomes and accomplishments for U.S. Department of Education, include the Annual Performance Report, and Purdue University Northwest.
Create, manage, and oversee the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program budget, ensuring disbursements are within federal and university guidelines.
Serve as liaison with faculty and graduate programs to ensure their complete understanding of the purpose of the Program and to garner their support and cooperation.
Develop and coordinate the implementation of a recruitment plan for 41 participants annually and approve all Program participants.
Enhance the visibility of the McNair Program, showcase student research, and recognize the contributions of faculty mentors.
Establish and implement a strategy for administering the plan of operation of the McNair grant.
Take a lead role in developing services for McNair Scholars that assist in the development and maintenance of standards for staff performance and program expectations, including data collection and timelines; and identify professional development needs for staff.
Plan and participate in graduate program visitations and graduate school tours.
