The Director of Upward Bound Math and Science (UBMS) works with low income, first generation and/or academically disadvantaged high school students to provide opportunities for participants to develop social skills, cultural competence, study skills and academic skills needed to become successful college students and attain their educational goals. The Director shall have the ultimate responsibility for envisioning, designing, building, implementing, monitoring, budgeting and evaluating the TRIO UBMS program in adherence with the US Department of Education regulations and the program proposal. This collaborative program will be developed in partnership with and on-location at Alameda International Jr/Sr High School. Additionally, the Director will lead efforts to plan, organize and present group workshops and events; planning and supervising participants' attendance at cultural events; and assist with the recruitment, selection and retention process for all participants.
